Welcome to Manchester Elementary
The teachers and staff at Manchester Elementary School will welcome our Kindergarten through 5th students with a virtual start on Friday, August 28th. Pre-school will begin virtually on September 4th.
A virtual school-wide “Back to School” orientation will be held on Thursday, August 20 for students in grades K-5. A separate virtual orientation will be held on September 2nd for PK students. A link will be posted on our school website, social media platforms and in the teachers’ Google classrooms. During these sessions, parents will receive back to school information, learn the importance of joining PTA, hear virtual learning expectations, review Parent Portal requirements, and meet staff members. We will also post a tutorial on how to use the Google Classroom and web based applications for learning.
We will have Chrome book distribution stations set up at the front of the school near the office. We ask that only one parent or guardian accompany the student. Face coverings or masks are required for adults entering the school. We will only have one family at the Chrome book check out station at one time.
Chrome books will be distributed to new students in grades 2-5. If a student in grades 2-5 does not have a Chrome book, they may check one out from the Chrome book station at Manchester between 8:30-11 and 1-3 on August 20 or 21.
Kindergarten and first grade Chrome book distribution will take place on August 25-26 between the hours of 8:30-11 and 1-3. Since we will be distributing so many Chrome books, the teacher will call each family and set up a specific time for Chrome book pick up for kindergarten and first grade students.
Please see the school and district’s websites for breakfast and lunch distribution information during virtual learning. Breakfast and lunch meals are free for all students. Teachers will contact parents with a specific date and times for school supplies and materials pick up.
More information will be provided as we begin school. Please check our school website as well as Manchester Elementary’s Facebook page for updates. Our office will be open Monday-Friday from 7:30-3:30, so please call 803-452-5454 if you have questions.
